Today when there is economic uncertainty, people are under dun due pressure, relationships are falling apart, people are fast looking for ways and means to connect to their spiritual side so that they can cope with the pressure of the environment. The place which we choose or create for meditation need not be a very big room. It can be a small area beneath the stairs, it can be a corner of your room or just a small portion of your backyard, balcony or just any area where you feel that YOU are able to concentrate and connect with yourself.
However, the room’s energy should be such that it assists you in creating that connect rather than distracting you. So what is it that you can do to create that positive chi in your meditation room?
Feng shui singing bowl:
A feng shui singing bowl has been used since ancient times in Tibet and China. It is now widely used as a feng shui cure for positivity and to add aesthetic value to the house. However a feng shui singing bowl has been used to cure negative vibrations and to add positivity in the house. It can be made of any metal, like silver, copper, lead, zinc etc. The singing bowl is made using the right mix of metals which create a sound that can cut through the negative energies and it brings about a balance in that particular room where it is placed. The singing bowls also have a mallet with which one can create that powerful sound. The singing bowls are struck with this mallet and later on the mallet is slightly and gently rubbed against the rim of the bowl to create a resonance which is effective in space clearing.
Smoke free incense sticks:
Incense sticks play a very important role in two ways. One to clears out any foul smell from the atmosphere and second if the atmosphere is clean, it brings about a beautiful flow of energy by emitting a sweet fragrance. But it should be kept in mind that the incense sticks should be preferably smoke free. The ones that start emitting smoke, starts distracting us too soon.
White curtains can provide a peaceful look:
Try and place lovely white curtains in your meditation room. White is the colour of purity, it is the colour of peace and therefore will help you concentrate better, even when you feel too distracted on any given day.
The meditation room should be absolutely Clutter free:
Clutter and positivity cannot go hand in hand. Clutter is one of the biggest reasons why people feel distracted and low in energies if they are unable to organize their room or house or shop or office for any single day. Clutter gathers dust and dust does not allow fresh air and energy to move around in the area.
